Our Solution

Scope of Work

The transformation process was thorough and precise, with attention to every detail:

  1. Plant Bed Removal: We began by removing the existing plant beds, clearing the space to create a blank canvas for the new patio. This involved the careful removal of soil and plant material to prepare the ground for the base.
  2. Excavation and Type 1 MOT Base: After clearing the area, we excavated the site to the necessary depth and installed a Type 1 MOT base. This provided a stable and durable foundation for the porcelain tiles.
  3. Weed Membrane Installation: To ensure that weeds would not grow through the porcelain tiles, we laid a weed membrane across the prepared base. This step is essential in maintaining the pristine look and durability of the patio.
  4. Sand and Cement Bed for Porcelain Studs: A sand and cement bed was then carefully laid to support the porcelain tiles. This ensures that each tile is securely positioned while maintaining a smooth and level surface.
  5. Manhole Cover Installation: A key feature of this project was the installation of a new manhole cover, which was seamlessly integrated into the porcelain patio design. We ensured the manhole cover matched the tiling, creating a cohesive and uninterrupted look.
  6. Porcelain Tile Installation: The porcelain tiles were laid with precision, using porcelain studs to ensure perfect spacing and alignment throughout the entire patio area.
  7. Jointing Compound: To finish the project, we applied a jointing compound between the tiles, providing a durable and weather-resistant solution for the joints. This not only added to the aesthetic appeal but also ensured the longevity of the patio.

Result

The finished porcelain patio transformed the back garden into a sleek, modern outdoor space. The client was particularly pleased with the seamless integration of the manhole cover and the smooth, clean look of the porcelain tiles. The project was completed efficiently, with minimal disruption, and the result was a beautiful, low-maintenance garden area that the client can enjoy for years to come.
