Case Study: Front Block Paving Driveway with Tree Removal and New Surround – 45m²

Project Overview

For this project, we transformed a 45-square-meter front driveway while addressing some key landscaping challenges. The client wanted a fresh new look, which required the removal of an existing tree with stump grinding. In addition, we installed a new dividing fence and built a brick wall along the surround to enhance both privacy and aesthetics. This comprehensive approach created a fully functional and visually appealing space.

Scope of Work

Our team handled every aspect of the project, from tree removal to the final block paving installation:

1. Tree Removal and Stump Grinding: The first step was to remove a large tree that stood in the middle of the planned driveway area. We used specialized equipment to safely cut down the tree and grind down the stump, ensuring the area was fully cleared and ready for further work.
2. Excavation: Once the tree was removed, we excavated the site to the required depth, preparing it for the installation of the new driveway.
3. Weed Membrane: To prevent weed growth from undermining the surface in the future, we laid a high-quality weed membrane across the entire area.
4. Type 1 MOT Base: A solid foundation is crucial, especially after a large tree removal. We installed and compacted a Type 1 MOT base to provide the necessary support for the new driveway.
5. Sand and Cement Bedding: A smooth sand and cement layer was applied to ensure a level base for the block paving installation.
6. New Dividing Fence: In addition to the driveway, we installed a new dividing fence to create privacy between the properties. The client chose a durable, weather-resistant fence style that complemented the overall design of the space.
7. Brick Wall Surround: To enhance the overall look of the driveway and define the space, we built a new brick wall along the surround. This not only added to the aesthetic appeal but also increased the structural integrity of the boundary.
8. Block Paving Installation: The client selected their preferred block and border colours, and we laid the paving with precision, ensuring a durable, long-lasting finish.
9. Waste Removal: As part of our service, all waste materials, including tree debris and construction waste, were removed from the site, leaving it clean and tidy.

Result

The completed project transformed the front of the property, with a beautiful 45-square-meter block paving driveway framed by a new brick wall and dividing fence. The removal of the tree and stump was handled efficiently, allowing the new driveway to be seamlessly installed. The client was extremely pleased with the outcome, especially the enhanced privacy and the clean, modern look of their new driveway.
